Privacy policy

The data controller is the publisher of PawPredict, an individual publishing on a non-professional basis. As French law allows, their identity is held by our hosting provider rather than shown here (see the legal notice) — it will be replaced by a named legal entity before any commercial activity starts. For anything related to your data, write to contact@pawpredict.com.

• Account data — your email address and a password (stored hashed). Needed to sign you in; your email is never shown publicly. Legal basis: performance of our terms of use, the contract that lets you play.
• Your animal’s profile — name, species, country, optional photo and social links. This is the identity you choose to publish: it appears in rankings and on the animal’s public profile page. Legal basis: performance of our terms of use.
• Predictions and videos — your picks, and the proof video for each one: either a link to your Instagram/TikTok post, or a file you upload to us. Approved predictions and videos are public — that’s the game. Legal basis: performance of our terms of use.
• Supports — the public counter next to each animal counts donations. If you donate while signed in, we may record that your account made a donation; the public only ever sees a total. Legal basis: performance of your donation, when you make one.
• Reports and moderation — if you report a profile, we store the report. Moderators keep the minimum needed to run the platform (review decisions, and account suspensions with their reason). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the platform safe and fair.
• Technical and security logs — our hosting providers keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and timestamps) when you visit, to prevent abuse and keep the service running. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in securing the service.

We do not collect browsing analytics, advertising identifiers, or precise location. We don’t sell or share your data with advertisers.

We only set strictly necessary cookies: the session cookies that keep you signed in. No tracking cookies, no third-party cookies — which is why you don’t see a cookie banner. If this ever changes, this policy and the site will change accordingly.

Your account, the database and uploaded files are stored with Supabase on servers located in the European Union. The website itself is served by Vercel, a US company: technical data such as server logs may be processed outside the European Economic Area, under the safeguards the GDPR requires (the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses in Vercel’s data processing agreement). Messages you send to our contact address are handled by Google Workspace, our email provider; automated emails (sign-up confirmations, password resets) are sent through Resend, from servers in the European Union. Videos linked from Instagram or TikTok stay on those platforms, under their own policies.

As a rule, for as long as your account exists. In detail:

• Profile, predictions and results — while the account exists. Rankings are seasonal and historical by nature: past results stay attached to the animal’s public record.
• Uploaded proof videos — the file is deleted one week after the match; only the verified result stays.
• Reports, moderation decisions and suspension reasons — while the account they concern exists.
• Technical logs and rolling backups at our providers — short-lived, deleted automatically within weeks.
• Emails to our contact address — for as long as needed to handle your request.

If your account is deleted, everything attached to it (profile, predictions, videos, supports) is deleted with it.

Under the GDPR you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, and portability (a copy of your data in a machine-readable format). You can object to the processing we base on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on it. For any of it, one email: contact@pawpredict.com. Account deletion requests are honoured completely: login, profile, predictions, videos and files. And if you believe we got something wrong, you can complain to your supervisory authority — in France, the CNIL.

Real-money donations are not live yet. When they launch, payments will be processed by a dedicated payment provider (we never see or store card numbers), and this policy will be updated before the first euro moves.

PawPredict is free to play and is not gambling: predictions are never bets — there is nothing to stake and nothing to win. Supporting an animal with a donation is optional, separate from the game, and never influences the rankings. You must be at least 15 to create an account on your own; below 15, French law requires the agreement of both you and a holder of parental authority.

If we change this policy, we update this page and its date. Major changes will be announced on the site.
